I Won’t Complain

The more I open my mouth to complain or vent, the more I’m reminded of all that God has done. In every situation—past and present, I can’t think of a single time He didn’t see me through. Seeing life through God’s word and lens is everything. How we view our circumstances, relationships, environment, and household shapes our attitude and response.

Each day, I choose gratitude for the little things. It keeps me grounded, connected, and aware of God’s constant provision. Yes, there are things I desire, positions I’ve prayed for, and dreams I’ve pursued - but in recent years, I’ve learned to let go and make room for what He desires for me. His plans are always greater.

I thank Him for a creative mind, a servant’s heart, a childlike spirit that helps me connect with my children (most of the time haha) and others, a beating heart, a moving body, and the ability to understand. Even on rainy days, gratitude sustains me.

The way we see ourselves, our life, and God matters. Job endured unimaginable loss (his children, servants, livestock, and home) yet he saw his circumstances through the lens of God’s sovereignty. Job 1:21 - reflects that despite his immense suffering, Job understood and acknowledged that God was in control and although he wrestled with deep anguish and questioned his circumstances, he never lost sight of God’s ultimate authority. It wasn’t easy nor was it something anyone would celebrate, however, he knew who God was. I find comfort not only in Jobs story but in my relationship with God that develops daily even when things don’t turn out my way, even when I complain and especially when I believe it shouldn’t happen to me. God is still sovereign, He is still good, and He is still in control.
